My labor of love

This place, I'm not even sure I have the words to describe what it means to me. In August, 2019 when we opened the doors, I had NO CLUE the impact the people in this community would have on my life. I have raised 2 of my children in this store. Charley went to Kindergarten in 2019, Drake would wash dishes when he got in trouble (it was great punishment, LOL) and sweet Noah was born in December 2021. I know all of my customers look out for my children like they are their own and for that I am eternally grateful!  They are not only my customers, they are my family. If you follow the Middlebrook Mercantile Facebook page you have heard me say that before, but it is so true! I have met so many wonderful people who have impacted my life. I have had to say good-bye to some that felt like Grandparents to me. People come and go in life, this business ebbs and flows like everything else, but in this little village town it hurts a little deeper.  There are days I just want to lock the door and say it's been a nice ride, but the people keep me coming back every day. If you are one of the many customers who have become family I have had the honor to serve the last 3 1/2 years, THANK YOU! THANK YOU for coming back every day or several days a week anyway. I hope that I have made a fraction of an impression on your lives as you have on mine. I love you all.

Being a small business owner is not for the faint of heart. Especially this day in time. The cost of things is ridiculous and we are all trying to make every dollar we have go as far as we can get it to go. We try our hardest to keep the costs down while offering quality homemade food. I definitely don't have set hours, I am always prepping something in my mind or reminding myself not to forget to do something. I am grateful!

So if you are ever out for a beautiful country ride come on out to Middlebrook Village and have lunch with us. Monday - Friday, 10:00-3:00. I would love to see you and mention this blog I would love to know if you are reading. Janice, Holly & I appreciate you.

Wishing you sunny skies and green pastures,

McKession
