Preparation

I don't really have any pictures to go with today's blog. I am sitting up in my she shed, where it is sweltering hot, but there is a slight breeze blowing in through the windows. I'm listening to some "focus" station on Pandora (this mild music really helps me focus and concentrate. It's very calming) It makes me wish I was getting a massage though! Just thinking about everything that's going on this week. Sunday's are like that for me. I usually go to church, when I get home Noah will eat lunch and then typically go down for a 2-3 hour nap. I clean house (if I haven't already that week) do laundry, meal plan for home and basically think about everything I need to do that week. Sometimes it drives me crazy because my personality likes to know everything that needs to be done this week and then I will make a list and go over it 1,457,243,987 times in my head and make more mental notes. It's that control issue thing I have again. I really need to work on that! I like to prepare for things, although sometimes I am a procrastinator and wait too long and then I'm in a tizzy. It makes me feel good, I really can't explain it. But if you ever need someone to plan it out on paper for you, I'm your girl! I LOVE to make list, check them 326 times and then the best satisfaction is when I get to put a big fat check mark βœ…in the box next to that task.

This past week was much less busy than the week before. I was off Thursday - Sunday so I had extra time to get things done, although I didn't because we had the Middlebrook Village 4th of July parade on Saturday, I had an appointment on Thursday and errands to run on Friday so it was a busy couple days. I typically spend lots of time at home when I'm off and up here in my she shed. Life happens sometimes though. Today, I didn't get to go to church as we sold our recliner and delivered it in Bath County this morning. I hate missing church, but this was the only time that worked for both the buyer and the seller. Bath County really is a beautiful drive, reminds me of Middlebrook. We drove past the Jefferson pools and that reminded me I really need to get back there. We went there for my sister's birthday one year before they re-did them and it was so nice!

After the parade on Saturday we went to the Balloons over Rockbridge event. I had never been and neither had Garrett, so we took the little kids up there. It was super cool to see the hot air balloons up close like that! They had music, food trucks (my favorite) vendors, that kind of thing. It was really neat to see. We were all hot and tired and Charley and I were sunburned so we didn't stick around to see when they light them at night. I did take pictures of that, see below...

This week we are off on Tuesday in observance of July 4th. God Bless the USA! We will get a day to sleep in and just do whatever we want. It's my "long" week and I'm already mentally preparing. I hope you all have a safe 4th of July, a wonderful HOT summer week, and get some rest!  I'm off to check some things off my list πŸ˜‰.

Wishing you sunny skies and green pastures,

McKession
