Pre-surgery jitters

I was laughing at the look on his face 😂 He said he didn't need his picture taken.

Let's get this over with

I had an outpatient surgery this morning. It was a "female surgery" I will call it and spare you all the gory details of what and why. I have never been put to sleep, so to say I was nervous about that would be an understatement. I thought up so many terrible things that could happen, but finally just prayed about it and let it go. I had to be at the hospital at 6:15 this morning. My first thought was, will Dr. Flather even be awake that early? She was and looking fresh and rested, Thank you Jesus! My friend Katie came and got Noah & Charley up and ready and where they needed to be and then went to work herself. She's raised 2 kids, so she knew what to do! Bless her for getting to my house at 5:15a.m..   The ride to the hospital was quiet. We were both still tired and I was a little nervous. The process went fairly smoothly I feel like. I was back in the OR before 8 a.m.  I have had 4 c-sections, so I knew what surgery was like. At the end of those surgeries though, I had someone to show for it 😊. This one I would not, now that was ok, don't misunderstand. It was just odd to be in the OR NOT having a baby.  There was music playing and warm blankets. I had to slide myself onto an operating "table" that was very comfortable believe it or not. The anesthesiologist was there and very nice also (it's always good to see the anesthesiologist when you're having surgery!) Dr. Flather told me 'my plane was about to take off and she would see me when I got back." I had to chuckle at that. The anesthesiologist put a mask over my face and that's the last thing I remember. I woke up in recovery to them calling my name. I didn't even open my eyes; I just remember smiling at them and hearing Dr. Flather say I'll go get her husband. The ironic thing (at least for me) is I didn't dream. I was expecting to have some crazy dream, but I didn't. I did however have the best sleep I have had in 10 years! I wish I could sleep that good a lot more! So, we were out of the hospital by 8:45 a.m.

I'm home and resting as well as I can. I'm going to be honest... remember I said I have had 4 c-sections? That was not near as painful as this has been this afternoon! Thank God for ibuprofen. Garrett has been a good nurse and now the littles are home. Here's to healing.

Wishing you sunny skies and green pastures,

McKession
