Taking it slow

Aunt Judy & Noah

Nana and her sister Judy (aka Aunt Judy)

I was off Thursday & Friday this week. I titled the blog "Taking it slow"; however, it was actually pretty busy. My Aunt Judy (my nana's sister) is visiting from Florida and Nana brought her to visit Noah & I on Thursday. We had a nice visit and entertainment (thanks to Noah). It was good to see her! They have lived away from here for many years. My Uncle Donnie is a preacher and when I was younger he was a Pastor in Robertsdale, PA. I remember going to visit them a few times. My cousin Denver is close to my age so we played together. When I was in the 5th grade I broke my ankle at Skatetown. Denver was in visiting Grandma Isabel and he and some of his friends were going skating. I asked Grandma if I could go, she really didn't want me to; said she just didn't feel right about it, but I begged and she gave in (which she rarely did!) She took us all and I don't think we were there very long before I literally broke my ankle skating. Denver and his friends wanted to walk up to the mall, but I could not walk. We had to use the payphone to call Grandma to come get us early. The next day my mom took me to the Dr. and sure enough my right ankle was broken. I was in a cast for the rest of the summer. Talk about a bummer! When Uncle Donnie retired from the ministry they moved to Florida.

Saturday I took Janice to The Barn at Creekside Farm for their monthly sale. My mom is a vendor there also. We went through the barn, went to a couple of shops in Dayton and had to stop at Smiley's Ice Cream on the way home. Janice & I had peach. It was delicious! She will probably want to kill me when she sees this picture I took of her, but she will get over it. Memories!

Here we are starting the week again already. It's my "long week" and I have lots to do, as I'm sure you all do. I hope you are having a great week!

Wishing you sunny skies and green pastures,

McKession
