Expecting mommas

The sunset over the hill

I missed those trees and ALL of their beauty

The Old Farmhouse

Ahh, the view

Camp Hollow Farm

I have been meaning to do this blog for weeks, but other pictures came up and I wanted to blog them first. I get my blog inspiration from things I see, then I take the picture and write the blog based on the picture(s). Camp Hollow Farm is truly a sight to see in the Fall. The trees behind the barn turn all the beautiful colors and it's just gorgeous. I captured them later and so you don't get to see many of the colors, but what is left is still nonetheless breathtaking. I remember when I moved here a year after Garrett and I got married, I would get so tired of the drive and it would make me so tired too, but it really is a sight to see. I can see the mountains from my bedroom window and in the morning when I can lay in bed and see the sun come up, I always say Thank you Jesus for this beautiful view.

Camp Hollow Farm has an interesting story. Janice's Great Aunts Virgie & Hattie were two old maids who farmed this land. Her daddy would help them, when they passed away, her parents moved to the farm. Upstairs in her house there are two bedrooms that still have the 3/4 beds and the straw mattress. There is a calendar on one of the dressers from the late 1800's. I was in awe the first time I saw those rooms. The farm is now run by Garrett & Colby. They do all the farm "things" and work full time jobs. We live in a farming community, so it's just a way of life here. I'm so grateful I get to live here, raise my children here and be a help mate to my husband. I only like to farm when it's sunny & 75 personally 😂, but I do what I have to do sometimes.

If you get the chance, take a drive South of Staunton to experience its beauty for yourself. My family thinks I live in another world, I guess maybe they're right! What a beautiful one it is.

Wishing you sunny skies and green pastures,

McKession
