The cones of shame
Mother & Daughter "Coneheads"
Ol Magpie
Today was finally the day. I had called the SPCA months ago to make an appointment for Maggie and Addie to be spaid, at the time they were not taking female dogs and put me on a waiting list. I went ahead and made an appointment at the vet to have Maggie spaid. She has had 2 litters of pups (a total of 23 😟) and this last litter did her in. It changed her. So, I decided it was time to get her fixed. She was supposed to go to the vet the middle of October to have the surgery done. The SPCA called me on Monday and said they had 2 appointments available for Tuesday. I said I'll take them. We had to be there at 8:00 a.m. I got the kids to school and the sitter's and the dogs to the SPCA by 8:00. There was a pretty long line and I waited in line for an hour to get them registered. I dropped them off and made it to work on time to at least get the coffee pot started.
Drake picked them up this evening and brought them home in the cones of shame. He said they told him they had to leave the cones on for 7-10 days 😂. I said that won't happen. They have been pretty chill this evening, especially Maggie. They figured out how to eat with the cones on their heads too. They have had their pain medicine and are in their crates for the night. I'm glad it's over with and that there will not be any more litters of puppies in the Irvine household, that's one less thing I can worry about. I would like to have a Corgi 😏 though, I'd also like to have a million dollars too. But you know what they say about that.
Wishing you sunny skies and green pastures,
McKession
