Before my world awakens
Thursday morning, I got awake at around 3:00 a.m. Of course, I laid there trying to go back to sleep and finally at 4:15, I just got up. I put my Christmas tree up on Wednesday night (it's not decorated... yet) so the lights were on, and it was just so peaceful. I LOVE Christmas lights and the feeling the Christmas season brings. I know it sounds like some cheesy Hallmark movie, but I can't help it. I came out and made coffee, got my Bible, a book and my "daily to-do" notebook, turned on my oversized heating pad and sat on my couch in the glow of the Christmas lights. It was the most peaceful and serene moment(s) my soul needed. I did initially think, I will pay for this around 2:00, but to my surprise I felt really good the whole day! I made a goal to try to get up 1/2 an hour earlier than I needed too each day, just to sit and "be still."
We are in full swing of the holiday season and life gets busy. It's the hustle and bustle of preparing for Thanksgiving and Christmas and scheduling when to have the time with your loved ones. I have a very large family, if you have read my blogs then you know I am so very blessed to still have grandparents on both sides of my family, however, they are divorced, so we split that time. I have done it my entire life and my children's entire life as well; so, we don't know any different.
I hope you can enjoy an early morning (maybe, not 4:15 a.m.) during this season to sit in the glow of your Christmas lights and just feel that feeling. It really is good for your soul! I have been able to get up early an end enjoy the serenity for the last 4 mornings.
