The clock keeps ticking... quickly it seems
The colors around the cemetery.
I cannot believe it has been a week since I last blogged. I apologize. I have had somewhat of a writer's block. I think about writing to you all every day but want to write words that mean something.
I cannot believe it is November already. Where has 2023 gone? When I was younger someone once told me that the older you get the faster time goes. They were so right! Dr. Weber from Grey's Anatomy said in an episode (from a looong time ago) that one day you realize you don't have as many tomorrows as yesterdays. I didn't give it much thought then, but November is my birthday month. That's right, I celebrate the entire month 😁. I don't necessarily do anything to celebrate, just remind my family that it's my birthday month. I don't want them to forget, HAHA. At my age I realize I have lived half a life already. I have done a lot of living in almost 43 years. A lot I would do differently, but then it made me the person I am today.
This is "thankful November" and I have SO MUCH to be thankful for! I could list them here; I don't think you want to read my very long list though. Much of it is similar to your own. If we choose to find the good in each day, it makes the bad look so miniscule compared to other problems in the world, maybe even in your own communities and families. I have been trying to make a more consistent effort to see the good in each day. I'm especially thankful I can get myself out of bed each day.
I am NOT thankful for daylight savings time ya'll! I hate when we "fall back." it gets dark so early and my body thinks I should go to bed at 7:30. I am trying to keep Noah on a schedule so that it will hopefully not affect him. Say a prayer. I always fretted the time change when all of my kids were younger. I'm not sure why, they all got through it pretty well. I have a friend whose daughter did not do well with the time change when she was little, and it was rough on them all. Noah woke up at 6:00 this morning, so at 6:30 we got up. I was able to get a lot of things done before church this morning. YES, we made it to church.
Our "we made it" faces.
I hope you all have a fabulous week and adjust to the stupid time change. Don't forget to go vote on Tuesday. My old boss at Marks & Harrison told me many years ago that voting was my civic duty. I never thought of it like that or what a privilege it is to be able to do so. The state/local elections are just as important as the Presidential elections as these are our voices in Washington. So, go do it. If you don't vote, then you can't complain about who did or did not win. 😉
Wishing you sunny skies and green pastures,
McKession
