I see you God!

WOW! Ya'll. I cannot believe it is almost 2024. A new year is upon us. I can't believe Christmas is over. I feel like from Thanksgiving until December 23 all of my focus is on "Am I ready for Christmas?" I ask SO MANY people that in my daily interactions too. I have stopped to think... am I ever REALLY ready for Christmas? I always feel like I don't have enough for the kids. It's silly really because they get so many things all year long, they don't need anything. Somehow, we always make it happen though.

Noah was so fun this year. He handed out the gifts at my mom's (he even threw a few) he's going to be my baseball player; boys got an arm on him! He ripped that paper open and was so excited about what was inside. THAT is what Christmas is all about to me. The kids and watching those I love open their gifts. I love to give.  We run around a lot for Christmas! It's busy, but I am so, so grateful that I have Grandparents still around to spend the holidays with! Charley is growing up on us, she asked for "big girl" things this year. No toys for her. It's a little bittersweet. She's becoming such a young lady and is beautiful inside and out.

Dylan and Drake, of course got things for their vehicles. They are fine young men. This is Drake's last year as a "kid" at Christmas, he will be 18 in August and will graduate in May. They will always be my kids though. Dylan and Megan come home for Christmas, and I am so thankful for that. I love having all of my kids together. Hanging out with your adult children really is looking at the best part of you. We have adult conversations and sometimes Dylan will tell me things from when he was a teenager. I remind him it's still too soon for those stories, LOL.

I closed the store this week, I figured it was the only time I could justify closing for a whole week. It's been nice to get Christmas cleaned up and just "relax". It really does rejuvenate me and gets me excited about coming back. I don't know how Mom's go back to work the day after Christmas. I think I have taken off that day for as many years as I can remember, or my employer gave us that day off. I will work right up to Christmas, but having the day after off is a bonus for me.

This blog is really long, and I am so glad you stayed to the end. I'm trying to do better. I don't use AI to get content, this is all me, unfiltered. I base a blog on a picture (or multiple pictures) as you can see. Thanks for following and sharing and reading. I'm so glad you are here. I know I will have another blog to write this year, it's already forming in my mind.

Wishing you sunny skies and green pastures,

McKession
