Turning the Page: Reflections and Resolutions
My first blog of 2024 😊. I started this blog in May 2023. It has been one of the best decisions of 2023. I love sharing life with all of you that follow along. Sometimes it's light and fun, sometimes it's heavy and hard. Life, it ebbs and flows. I'm praying over 2024, that it will help me reach for the stars and the personal goals I have set for myself. I will share the BIG one with ya'll. In 2024, I want to be a content creator. You may have noticed that I post A LOT on Facebook and Instagram now. Occasionally on Tiktok. I have to have 1,000 followers to be recognized on the content creator platforms. I have about 700. Tell your friends to follow me, and if you don't follow, then please start. I try to keep it real and just take you along with me through my day. My "internet bestie" influenced me to give it a try (she didn't shout out my name or anything like that) but she is very encouraging. So, follow me on socials if you would like.
2023 was an overall pretty good year. All of my family made it out intact, for that I am so thankful! Garrett had an emergency surgery, the first experience for both of us and got a promotion at work. Noah turned 2, Charley is blossoming into a beautiful young lady. She does well in school and has the sweetest heart. Drake is a senior, hallelujah! More on that in May. Dylan and Megan are adulting and doing their own thing.
The Middlebrook Mercantile made it through another year, thanks to all of our patrons and especially those that visit on a regular basis. We have kept the doors open through many uncertain times. I'm taking notes to write a book about that little village Mercantile. It's been fun making notes. We will celebrate 5 years in August 🙋. Camp Hollow Farm continues to raise beef cattle and provide quality meat for their customers and mine. Life is moving along in a flash. Our little village is experiencing some health issues and is getting older. Lester Hughes continues to battle cancer daily and our beloved Nancy Melady (Miller), who has raised 4 generations of Middlebrook is battling cancer also. Please pray for strength and healing for them. Mr. Bill turned 89 and gets around to keep us all straight. Jerry is still doing everything! Michelle, Chris, Hunter and I preach at him daily to take care of himself too (hopefully he's listening).
I am thankful for another year. I want to do and be whatever God sees fit for me this year. My motto for several years has been "Where you lead, I will follow. Just give me the courage to go."
I pray each of you has a blessed 2024. I'll try to see the good in each day and situation and know that God's plans are bigger than mine.
Wishing you sunny skies and green pastures,
McKession
