Just me

First, let me apologize for not writing a blog in almost 2 months. I have had writers block to be honest with you, or I am just not seeing the beauty in the every day. It has been a struggle for sure. I am hoping to get back to blogging at least once a week.

A LOT of life has happened in the last 2 months. We participated in Market Animal Show, Charley got 2nd place with Gary the Goat and won 3rd overall in Junior showmanship. We were super proud of her for that! Noah was a champ, but he has been the most laid-back child since the beginning, or at this stage of my life I'm the one who is more laid back?! Although, the other kids would tell you I am not 😂.

Drake graduated from high school. Words cannot express how absolutely thankful I am that he is done! I always knew he would do it (we didn't give him a choice) but oh my goodness did it seem like a very long journey! I'm welcoming him into adulthood (although he won't be 18 until August) by making him get his own car insurance policy and pay his own cell phone bill. He's not thrilled about it, but I've never met anyone thrilled about paying their own bills. Welcome to being a grown-up boo boo.

Oh yeah, the Mercantile won Best of the Valley in the Cheap Eats category. To say I am humbled and oh so very grateful would be an understatement. I was so shocked when I learned the news months ago (but had to keep it quiet until the end of May). I'm so very fortunate I get to live this dream and serve my community. It's not without trials and tribulations, but the loyal customers, grit and hustle and God keep the doors open. Thank you to everyone that voted and supports us! We couldn't do it without you!

Other than that, we are living the dream around here on the farm. Garrett is in the hay field (I endearingly call myself the "hay widow" now) He works his paying job all day and then comes home to mow or bale or wrap hay in the evenings until dark. It's what he has done his whole life basically, so he's used to it. The rest of us adjust. We wouldn't have it any other way.  I hope everyone is having a fantastic summer! I can't believe we are already in the middle of June. Time is going by way to fast! Thanks for sticking around! I love you and I'm cheering for you!

Wishing you sunny skies and green pastures,

McKession
